“Take
care of your health during Ramadan”
Now a days we all are conscious about our health. We always
try to maintain balanced diet. Balanced diet helps us to keep fit mentally and
physically. During Ramadan it is very crucial and very difficult to maintain
good health, due to a long time fasting near about 14-16 hours. After long time fasting, we do our Iftar by a
variety of traditional food and snacks. These traditional foods are made by
soyabean oil. Excess soyabean oil affects our alimentary system badly.
Initially it affects on mucus layer of our stomach wall, which is very soft and
lipophilic (weakness to lipid) in nature. Soyabean oil also contains
unsaturated fatty acid chain, which is also lipophilic in nature. As a result
there is an interaction or reaction of oil and stomach wall. This reaction is
supreme when stomach is empty. When in empty stomach we take this type of oily
food, it easily increases health risk.
Following are the major symptom usually faced by maximum
people during Ramadan:
1.
Gastric pain.
2.
GERD (Gastro Esophagus Reflex Disease).
3.
Gastric
ulcer.
4.
Duodenal pain.
5.
Duodenal ulcer.
6.
IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome).
7.
Constipation.
8.
Abdominal pain.
9.
Abdominal cramping etc.
We must be aware of this type of problem. We should do our
Iftar firstly by plenty of water, chira by dissolving in water, rice,
fruit juice.
If you are already affected by above mentioned problem, at
first go to your nearest medicine shop and describe your problem to registered
pharmacist or pharmacy manager. He will give you a H2 blocker
or a PPI (proton pump inhibitor).

must be administered twice daily in empty stomach. After intake of a H2
blocker minimum 15 minutes no food should not be taken.
If your pharmacist gives you a PPI, it must be
administered twice daily in empty stomach. After intake of a PPI minimum 30
minutes no food should not be taken.
Strength of unit adult dose of H2 blocker
in single unit is 150mg (Ranitidine) and PPI in single unit is 20mg
